  • How did you spend your 4th of July?

I was shooting the excellent wedding of Ami and Debraj!

The vivid colors  make for a dramatic day....

.....and the clothing lends itself to portraits that could be from today,  or 50 years ago....

There were lots of modern touches.....

.....but the careful attention to family and tradition says it all!

    Congratulations Ami and Debraj!

  • Odds 'n' ends...Bike Week

I've lived in the Orlando area for a long time but never photographed bike week til this year.  Two things fascinated me,  the beefy,  industrial technology....

    ......and the people....

There was a guy juggling ceramic beer bottles.....

'Come back tonight',  the juggler confided to me.  'The bottles will be on fire.'

It's people doing things,  living a lifestyle that's probably been around since shortly after World War II.   But how long can it last?  The thundering,  slow-chugging  Harley engines....

    ...the clothing....

    ....the patriotism....

....the occasional beer bottle taking flight,  the....orange hair?

As quickly as the world is changing today,  how long can it last?

The impression I got,  these folks will find a way to make it last.  Fifty years from now,  when the internal combustion engine is his-to-reee,   the bike engines will be electric,  or hydrogen,  or whatever.  But these guys will find a way to put a speaker system on the bike that booms out that eternal Harley BLUP BLUP BLUP.

  • A very Gator wedding!

Amanda and Matt tied the knot at a really cool Church-in-the-Round and then it was on to the Swamp to document their love of all things Gator...

Folks were hanging around Ben Griffin Stadium,  lounging,  running the steps and so forth,  so we had a ready made audience for our 50 yard line shoot...

Go Gators this fall!   Many happy years for Amanda and Matt!

  • The Doves Fly!

Alisha and James got married at Paradise Cove...there were lots of cool parts,  but the best was the dove release...

Alisha got ready at the Grand Hotel Reunion,  which is another Florida marvel,  a beautiful,  huge resort where you wouldn't expect it.

The hotel is a great setting for photos,  and Alisha rocked the poses,  then we were off to Paradise Cove....

James arrived with his guys,  and Alisha came down the aisle...

The dove wranglers filled me in before the ceremony,  they said things may not happen the instant the basket is opened,  the doves have to adjust for a moment,  figure out what's going on...

    Alisha opens the top

After a longish pause,  the first one goes!

The other dove sticks it head out and looks around...what's happening?

Then it gathers itself and  BOOM!

    James and Alisha are married!
